Mindfulness support to help you feel present, calmer, and more in control
If your mind feels constantly busy — replaying the past, worrying about the future, or never fully switching off — mindfulness can help you step out of that loop.
Mindfulness isn’t about “emptying your mind” or pretending everything is fine. It’s about becoming aware of what’s happening right now, without judgement — and learning how to respond differently.
I help people use mindfulness, and where helpful, hypnotherapy and NLP to calm mental noise, reduce anxiety, and regain a sense of control and clarity.
Many clients notice a shift in how they think and feel within just a few sessions.

What Mindfulness Really Is (and What It Isn’t)
Mindfulness is the skill of being present with your thoughts, feelings, and sensations as they are — rather than fighting them, analysing them, or being pulled around by them.
It is not:
- Forcing positive thinking
- Ignoring problems
- Trying to “stop” thoughts
- Sitting silently for hours
It is:
- Awareness without judgement
- Learning to notice thoughts instead of becoming them
- Responding instead of reacting
- Creating space between stimulus and response
That space is where calm, clarity, and choice return.
Why the Mind Gets Stuck in Anxiety, Overthinking & Stress
Most mental distress comes from living in psychological time:
- The past → regret, resentment, sadness
- The future → worry, fear, anticipation
The mind constantly moves between the two.
Mindfulness gently brings you back to the present moment — the only place where you actually have control.
When you’re present:
- Anxiety and stress reduce
- The nervous system settles
- Thoughts lose their grip
- Emotions become manageable

Gregg C – Feb 2018 & Nov 2023
Thank you for helping me recognise the origin of the issue I had. You managed to get to the cause pretty quickly, in a relaxed and supportive manner. The strategies, mindfulness, and self-knowledge that developed from those three sessions enabled me to make positive changes that have improved my life and the lives of my family. Being able to think in a calmer, more aware way has been a real eye-opener, and the NLP — alongside the mindfulness techniques — is something I can take away with me for the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eckhart Tolle & Psychological Time
Much of modern mindfulness thinking has been popularised by Eckhart Tolle, particularly through his work The Power of Now. Tolle describes how psychological suffering is largely created by the mind’s fixation on psychological time — replaying the past or projecting into the future.
In this framework:
- Overwhelm arises when the mind becomes overloaded with future-based thinking.
- Underwhelm or numbness can occur when people disengage from experience altogether.
Tolle emphasises that peace and clarity do not come from controlling thoughts, but from recognising when attention has drifted away from the present moment. By gently returning awareness to the body, breath, or immediate experience, the nervous system begins to settle naturally. This creates space between thoughts and emotions — allowing people to respond rather than react.
This is not spiritual bypassing or positive thinking. It is a practical shift from mental noise to lived experience.
Where Hypnotherapy Fits (Strategic, Not Pushy)
Mindfulness is often enough on its own. However, when someone repeatedly returns to overwhelm, anxiety, or emotional shutdown despite practicing mindfulness, there is usually a subconscious pattern reinforcing the response.
This is where hypnotherapy or subconscious work can be helpful — not as a replacement for mindfulness, but as a way of addressing the deeper emotional or learned responses that pull someone out of the present moment in the first place.
For this reason, mindfulness and hypnotherapy work particularly well together when:
- Overwhelm feels automatic or persistent
- Emotional numbness or disengagement keeps returning
- Stress responses feel disproportionate or “out of context”
- The same patterns repeat despite conscious effort
Any deeper work is always guided by the individual and their goals.
✅ Mindfulness FAQ
What is mindfulness, really?
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention fully into the present moment — noticing thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judging or fighting them. It’s not about clearing your mind, but about changing your relationship with what’s happening inside it.
How does mindfulness help with overwhelm and stress?
Overwhelm usually happens when the nervous system stays stuck in “threat mode.” Mindfulness helps calm this response by grounding your attention in the present, reducing mental noise, emotional reactivity, and the sense of being mentally overloaded.
Do I need to meditate for hours to benefit from mindfulness?
No. Mindfulness works in short, practical moments throughout the day. Even brief awareness practices — minutes at a time — can reduce stress and increase clarity when used consistently.
Is mindfulness the same as meditation?
Meditation is one way to practise mindfulness, but mindfulness itself is broader. It can be used while walking, breathing, working, or dealing with difficult emotions — not just sitting quietly.
Can mindfulness help with anxiety and overthinking?
Yes. Mindfulness is particularly effective for anxiety and overthinking because it reduces the habit of living in the future or replaying the past — where worry and mental noise tend to live.
What if my mind won’t switch off?
That’s completely normal. Mindfulness doesn’t require your mind to be quiet. It works even when thoughts are busy — the practice is simply noticing them without getting pulled into them.
Do I need to believe in anything for mindfulness to work?
No. Mindfulness is practical, evidence-based, and doesn’t require spiritual beliefs. While it appears in spiritual traditions, it works just as well from a psychological and neurological perspective.
How quickly do people notice benefits from mindfulness?
Many people notice small but meaningful changes quite quickly — feeling calmer, less reactive, and more present. Like any skill, the benefits increase with practice.
Can mindfulness be combined with therapy or coaching?
Yes. Mindfulness works very well alongside hypnotherapy, NLP, coaching, or counselling — especially for stress, overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional regulation.
