ADHD Support, Hypnotherapy & Coaching

Practical Support for Adults with ADHD in Reading, Didcot & Online

Many adults with ADHD spend years feeling misunderstood.

Some have been diagnosed as children, while others only discover later in life that ADHD may explain many of the challenges they have experienced for years.

Difficulties with concentration, organisation, emotional regulation, procrastination, impulsivity and overthinking can affect work, relationships and confidence. Many people also experience anxiety, stress, low self-esteem or feel constantly overwhelmed.

While hypnotherapy does not cure ADHD, it can often help with many of the emotional and behavioural challenges that accompany it.

At The Excel Practice, I combine hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching to help people better understand how their mind works and develop practical strategies that create lasting change.

What Is ADHD?

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain regulates attention, motivation, emotions and behaviour.

Despite its name, ADHD is not simply a lack of attention.

Many people with ADHD can focus intensely on subjects that genuinely interest them—a phenomenon often called hyperfocus—while struggling to engage with tasks that feel repetitive, routine or unstimulating.

ADHD affects everyone differently.

Some people are predominantly inattentive, others are more hyperactive or impulsive, while many experience a combination of both.

ADHD Is About Much More Than Concentration

Many adults are surprised to discover that ADHD can also involve:

  • Racing thoughts
  • Overthinking
  • Emotional sensitivity
  • Difficulty switching off
  • Poor sleep
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Time blindness
  • Procrastination
  • Low confidence
  • Difficulty prioritising
  • Forgetfulness
  • Impulsivity

These challenges often have a greater impact on daily life than attention alone.

Living With ADHD

Living with ADHD can be frustrating.

Many people know exactly what they need to do but struggle to begin.

Others feel overwhelmed by the number of things competing for their attention.

Some become trapped in cycles of procrastination, self-criticism and guilt.

Over time, repeated setbacks can affect confidence and self-esteem, leading people to believe they are lazy or lacking motivation when this is rarely the case.

ADHD and Emotional Wellbeing

Many adults with ADHD also experience:

These emotional patterns often become just as challenging as ADHD itself.

Helping people manage these secondary difficulties is an area where hypnotherapy and coaching may be beneficial.

How Hypnotherapy and NLP May Help

Hypnotherapy cannot remove ADHD.

However, it can help many people develop healthier patterns around:

  • Managing stress
  • Emotional regulation
  • Reducing anxiety
  • Improving confidence
  • Breaking cycles of procrastination
  • Developing better routines
  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing negative self-talk
  • Feeling calmer and more focused

Sessions are practical, collaborative and adapted to your individual circumstances.

Every Person’s ADHD Is Different

There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

Some people need help managing anxiety.

Others struggle with confidence after years of feeling different.

Some want practical strategies for work or study.

Others simply want to understand themselves better.

The focus is always on helping you work with your mind rather than against it.

A Practical, Individual Approach

My approach combines:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy
  • NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
  • Mindset Coaching
  • Positive Psychology

Sessions are calm, conversational and personalised.

There are no scripts and no forced visualisation.

Everything is adapted to the individual.
